Green Valley, Henderson Service Area
Green Valley was Southern Nevada's first master-planned community. Its oldest neighborhoods date to 1978, and building continued through Green Valley Ranch in the 1990s and 2000s. That spread of ages means very different windows from one street to the next. Call (702) 237-4401 for a free in-home measure anywhere in Green Valley.
In older Green Valley homes, the usual upgrade is replacing dated vertical blinds and aging shades with shutters, faux wood blinds, or cellular shades. These homes may also have original windows, so insulating products are worth a look. In Green Valley Ranch and the newer sections, the focus is usually glare and heat on west glass, where solar shades or exterior solar screens help most. A free in-home measure covers each window. Green Valley is a master-planned community in Henderson, in the southeast part of the Las Vegas Valley. American Nevada Corporation began planning it in 1973 and held the grand opening on October 24, 1978. That makes it Southern Nevada's first master-planned community, ahead of Summerlin. The master community covers roughly 8,400 acres and includes Green Valley South, which began around 1985, and Green Valley Ranch, which began in 1994. American Nevada says Green Valley Ranch was completed in 2002. Postal codes include 89074, 89014, and 89012, and Green Valley Ranch extends into eastern 89052.

Henderson shares the Las Vegas Valley's desert climate of long, hot summers and strong sun most of the year. The National Weather Service Las Vegas office issues the heat warnings that cover the area. West- and south-facing windows are where coverings make the biggest difference. Exterior solar screens stop heat before it reaches the glass, and interior products handle glare and privacy. Our Henderson heat and glare study covers the details.
Many Green Valley neighborhoods have homeowner associations, and some sections have their own rules as well. If you are planning exterior solar screens, check the current architectural guidelines and approved colors first. We can provide specification sheets and samples for your submittal. Interior coverings are rarely restricted.
